Graham Cracker Butter

August 8, 2016 by The Emotional Baker 58 Comments

Graham Cracker Butter

An easy recipe that transforms regular graham crackers into dreamy butter When I fall for something, I fall hard. Remember my smoothie obsession? And my salad obsession? And of course, my granola obsession? Well, another thing is simple nut butter sandwiches. But I have a confession - I take those two slices of bread and innocent cashew butter - and add some sinful toppings. Like cookie butter. & chocolate chips. (& leftover Easter candy.) I was using store bought cookie ...

Cherry Pie Chocolate Shortbread Bars

Cherry Pie Chocolate Shortbread Bars

Chocolate and cherries collide in these shortbread bars. They are topped with streusel and a white chocolate drizzle. Would you prefer to just go with the flow or fight everything with resistance, stubbornness and lots of tears? Former me (& a little bit of present day me) chose the latter. Especially when my family went out to eat on beach vacations. If we didn't go where I wanted to (which consisted of probably one place,) I pitched a huge fit, pouted, and probably created a ...

Strawberry Peach Popsicles

Strawberry Peach Popsicles

Cool off with a refreshing strawberry and peach flavored pop First visual sign of summer - glowing lightning bugs. First auditory sign of summer - the sweet hum of cicadas. But this year, I thought maybe it wasn't a magic year since I haven't heard them. (you know how cicadas live underground for 13 or 17 years and then emerge?) Like most bugs - ants and bees - I have a special relationship with these unique insects. One summer, on a hot and humid marathon training run with ...

Multi Herb Pesto

Multi Herb Pesto

Cilantro, parsley and pecans blended to create the perfect sauce for pizza, pasta and sandwiches Help! Gardening expert needed ASAP!! My small little herb garden has been overtaken by . . . I have no idea! Back in the fall, I finally convinced my family to start composting all our fruit and vegetable scraps. We didn't use any fancy chicken wire or an official composter, just a yard waste can. I set out after every meal - whether it was 6 degrees, snowing or pouring rain - to dump ...

But never fear, just scoop the remaining in a microwave safe bowl, microwave for a minute, and enjoy. ‘Cause you have to taste test anyway right? 😜

Sourdough Cracker Recipe Inspired by @feastingathome
Perfect. • It’s something we try so hard to ac Perfect.
•
It’s something we try so hard to achieve.
•
But at times it can leave us feeling tired, unworthy, and not “as good” as our peers.
•
Trying to get the perfect photo, something I use to love to do, started to drain me out more than fill me up.
•
So I haven’t been taking as many photos.
•
Getting the perfect photo would lead to my family eating cold pancakes while I tried to get that award winning shot. Or an hour of clean up picking up all the leftover sprinkles I used for my fancy backdrop.
•
So this Easter I kept things easy. I shot a few quick photos of these Sourdough Cinnamon Rolls with my iPhone and left my DSLR and natural light to the side.
•
The Emotional Baker of a year ago would gasp that I’m posting this photo.
•
But here’s the truth: Every day’s perfect, even if it goes unplanned. Every meal, every moment with loved ones, every walk, everything you do each and everyday is perfect. And just as it’s intended to be.
•
Here’s to a day of finding bliss in the imperfect and knowing it truly is perfect just as it is.
•
Happy Easter!
