Whole wheat bread with pumpkin cinnamon sugar swirl
This bread is very similar to the Pumpkin Cinnamon Raisin Swirl Bread. The difference in the two is how the pumpkin is used. In the first bread, the pumpkin was added to the dough. In this bread, the pumpkin is mixed with sugar and cinnamon and used as the swirl.
To be honest, I had never considered adding pumpkin to the swirl. I was a little worried about how the loaf would turn out. The result: perfection. The difference between the two loaves is the texture of the bread. This loaf is fluffier, while the original is denser.
I couldn’t pick a favorite. Which loaf would you pick?

This looks great! I think I would pick the Pumpkin Cinnamon Swirl Bread (minus the raisins since I don’t like them)!

Good call!

This looks fantastic! I love almost everything about this-the pumpkin; the fact that it’s whole wheat, and the use of almond milk. I’ve never thought of using almond milk in bread or in baking in general but I’m sure it’s a wonderful addition.

Thanks for visiting, Faith! I bake solely with almond milk and love it 🙂

What a lovely bread! I love the flavours you have used and I like that you’ve used both whole wheat and bread flour. If you have time, this would be a great recipe to link up at the Hearth and Soul hop which is live on my blog now. I’ve pinned it to my Bread Recipes board on Pinterest. Thank you for commenting on my blog earlier today 🙂

Thank you, April! I am heading to the Hearth and Soul hop right now 🙂

What a beautiful loaf of bread. I love the cinnamon swirl in it. Where does the pumpkin come in, I didn’t see that list?
The Emotional Baker says
Thanks Vicki! The pumpkin is in the swirl. The swirl ingredients are listed down with the instructions. I apologize if this is confusing.

Hmmm, I would be able decide… I love how you did both kinds of textures. I’ve been wanting to make a bread like this. I’m going to give this a try. I love pumpkin anything…but I love the breads with pumpkin…and with a little swirlage to the action! Yum!
The Emotional Baker says
Thanks Gloria! Let me know how it goes 🙂
